Job Description

Title:                                      CLASSROOM TEACHER

 

Qualifications:                                  College Degree in assigned teaching area from an accredited institution.

                                                              Wyoming Teaching Certificate and highly qualified status from the Professional

                                                              Teaching Standards Board (PTSB) at assigned level for elementary or middle

                                                              school or subject area endorsement for secondary. 

 

Reports To:                                       The Building Principal acting under the supervision of the District

                                                              Superintendent and the Board of Education. 

 

Job Goal:                                            To provide instruction to each student assigned with the end result being improved student achievement on an annual and sustained basis.

 

Performance Responsibilities:                  

 

  1. Provide and manage a positive classroom that is conducive to learning.
  2. Perform all assigned duties with student safety and performance as the primary considerations.
  3. Provide instruction to each student in all assigned areas according to District and State regulations.
  4. Implement with fidelity the district approved curriculum.
  5. Provide teaching competency.
  6. Provide the initiative for professional growth.
  7. To stay current regarding rules, regulations and policies of the District and State.
  8. Demonstrate a strong code of professional ethics and integrity.
  9. Follow building operational procedures and discipline policy.
  10. Plan daily lessons and classroom management for the best possible learning environment.
  11. Be a professional, positive, ethical and collegial role model for others at all times.
  12. Demonstrate confidentiality.
  13. Keep accurate and timely data for grading and evaluation purposes.
  14. Responsible for materials and equipment in classrooms and buildings.
  15. Follow Board policies, administrative regulations, and Principal directives.
  16. Performs such other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or Superintendent in a competent, precise, timely, professional, and confidential manner. 

 

 

Terms of Employment:                  Teachers are hired as per district calendar, policies and individual contracts for 185 days to be compensated according to the District salary schedule and policies.

 

Evaluation:                                        Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with Board policy for evaluation of certified staff.
