Special Education Teacher - Early Learners

Overview: Boyne City Public Schools has an opening for a Special Education Teacher in the Early Learners Program for the 2026-27 school year. This position 80% of a full-time position, offering flexibility in staff scheduling. 
 

Qualifications:

1. Persons interested in this position must hold a Michigan certification that qualifies them to teach pre-K Special Education (ZS or equivalent).  Candidates with an additional early childhood endorsement (ZA or equivalent) will be given special consideration for this position, but all special education-certified candidates will be considered. 
2. Applicants must provide Boyne City students with a safe, caring, and nurturing environment. They must have patience, strong organizational skills, and a solid understanding of best practices in early childhood education. 

Reports to: Early Learners Director 

Job Goal: The Teacher agrees to perform the duties assigned competently and professionally in accordance with the Board of Education's established policies and regulations and the laws of the State.

2. Ability to adapt and meet the demands of the current educational climate;
3. Willingness and ability to work collaboratively with all members of the school staff, students, and parents;
4. Understanding of the most current research supporting teaching practice;
5. Willingness and ability to use technology as a learning tool and provide students opportunities to explore learning through multiple resources;
6. Ability to articulate and integrate real-world applications within the learning environment;
7. Ability to work collaboratively with school administration to improve opportunities for students;
8. Understanding of ways to assess student learning in a variety of ways

Terms of Employment: This position will be a BCEA teacher contract position, starting in the 2026-27 school year
