Position:        Director of Special Services


Qualifications:

• School Administrator Standard Certificate of Eligibility (CE) required
• Principal/Supervisor Standard Certificate required
• Minimum of 3 years successful experience as a Principal, Director, and/or Supervisor required
• Minimum of 5 years special education experience required
• Prior PreK Experience and PEEA Grant Funding Knowledge preferred

Responsibilities:

• Coordinates all special education programs and auxiliary services impacting classified pupils
• Directs the District Child Study Teams/Special Education Supervisors/Teachers
• Develops and presents to the Superintendent both short and long term plans of the operation of the CST and its programs for students
• Develops and provides oversight of Special Services budget in regards to special education matters, out of district placements/tuition, child study team services and professional services contracts
• Develops and provides oversight of IDEA Federal Program
• Provides oversight of Special Services expenditures, including purchase order review, invoice review and expenditure account projections
• Oversees PreK programming, grant submittal, and budgeting
• Responsible for the approval and management of all bedside instruction and I & RS process
   

Terms of Employment: 

1. Twelve-month position; Salary commensurate with experience and BTASA Salary Guide.
2. Administrative staff are eligible for family Medical, Prescription, and Dental benefits. Sick, Vacation, and Bereavement days are included.
