Job Description

• Maintain an amiable and harmonious relationship with all district personnel, students, and members of the community in exercising successful fulfillment of job responsibilities.
• Clean corridors, classrooms, lavatories and other general areas daily, as instructed.
• Accept responsibility for the safety of buildings and grounds including snow removal.
• Accept responsibility for the general security of the building.
• Accept responsibility for the opening and closing of the building each school day and for determining, before leaving, that all doors and windows are secured, and all lights, except those left on for safety reasons, are turned off.
• Communicate to the Principal and the Supervisor of Building and Grounds all incidents of vandalism.
• Moves furniture or equipment within building as required for various activities and as directed by the principal.
• Wears uniforms provided and maintain a neat appearance.
• Responsible for the moving and storing of supplies.
• Makes such minor building repairs as he or she is capable of.
• Assumes all such duties as may be assigned by the Principal and Supervisor of Building and Grounds.
• Has the responsibility to cover building at times when needed for school functions outside of regular hours.
• Properly uses safeguards and maintains equipment provided.
• Has the responsibility to know and enforce Board policies and administrative regulations relevant to facility operation and building utilizations by community.
• Perform routine custodial duties, to include dusting, mopping, vacuuming, cleaning classrooms, offices, bathrooms, corridors and restocking paper and soap dispensers.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team. Reliable, punctual and willing to complete tasks with attention to detail. Physical ability to stand, walk, lift, push, pull  and carry items up to 50 pounds. That is more than 70 percent of the job.

Job Requirements:

• Boiler License.

Salary Range:

$67,455 - $72,355

Additional Employment Requirements:

• Approved criminal history background check for district 3710
• Pass the Trash approval
• Proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
• Current residency in New Jersey or approved residency waiver, or candidate agreement to obtain residency within one year of employment.
