REQUIREMENTS:

- Experience in Math instruction in a secondary school setting
- Current valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsement(s)
- Experience or strong interest in project-based learning and interdisciplinary instruction.
- Experience with or willingness to support multi-grade intervention.

We are seeking a skilled and student-centered Sixth Grade Math Teacher to join our innovative learning community. This role is ideal for an educator who values collaboration, believes in making math meaningful through project-based learning (PBL), and is deeply committed to ensuring all students master essential mathematical skills. The teacher will work within a co-teaching model, contribute to interdisciplinary projects, and play a key role in supporting students across grades through targeted math intervention.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- INSTRUCTION AND SKILL DEVELOPMENT
- Design and deliver rigorous, standards-aligned math instruction for sixth grade students within a project-based learning framework.
- Ensure students develop and demonstrate mastery of essential mathematical skills and concepts first and foremost.
- Use a variety of instructional strategies to support conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and problem-solving.
- Regularly assess student learning and use data to adjust instruction and support mastery.
- Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs and ensure equitable access to grade-level content.
- CO-TEACHING AND COLLABORATION
- Collaborate closely with co-teachers to plan, implement, and assess instruction.
- Contribute mathematical expertise to interdisciplinary projects, ensuring alignment to standards and skill development.
- Engage in shared responsibility for all students within the learning environment.
- Participate in team planning, data analysis, and continuous improvement cycles.
- PROJECT-BASED AND EXPERIENTIAL LEARNING
- Integrate math skills and concepts into interdisciplinary, project-based learning experiences.
- Support the implementation of field-based learning experiences by helping students apply mathematical thinking in real-world contexts.
- Collaborate with team members who coordinate logistics for off-campus experiences.
- INTERVENTION AND STUDENT SUPPORT
- Provide targeted math intervention for students in grades 6–8.
- Use data to identify student needs and design small-group or individualized support plans.
- Monitor progress and adjust intervention strategies to accelerate student growth.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure alignment between core instruction and intervention.
- Actively participate in full implementation of the School Improvement Plan.
- Assisting in orientation and open houses as needed.
- Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day.
- Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with best practices in math education, including attending workshops, conferences, and in-service training. Includes professional learning communities and building level staff meetings per direction of the building principal.
- Create a safe and inclusive learning space where all students feel valued and supported in their learning journey.
- Other duties as assigned.
