Program Manager of Welding Technologies

The Branch Area Careers Center (BACC) is located in Coldwater, Michigan, and provides career and technical opportunities to over 500 students per year.  The BACC works closely with community and business partners to provide career and college readiness opportunities for secondary students and to provide a workforce for continued economic growth in Branch County.

Requirements: 

Qualification requirements which the Program Manager must possess: 

1. Education and/or certification:
   1. Valid Michigan Teaching Certification with Vocational Certification for Welding, Brazing and Soldering (48.0585)
   2. Or meets qualifications for Annual Career Authorization (ACA)
2. Experience:
   1. 4,000 hours of recent and relevant work experience for ACA.
   2. Preferred 3 years working in the welding industry.
   3. Preferred experience working with Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO). 

Duties: 

1. Ensure that curriculum is current and covers appropriate Perkins Core Competences.
2. Enforce safety rules and regulations.
3. Keep assigned area in order.
4. Evaluate and grade students using established method.
5. Maintain an active advisory committee.
6. Assist OJT coordinator with job placement of students and ensure all student are given WBL opportunities.
7. Direct and facilitate CTSO activities and competitions.
8. Ensure all students are given an opportunity to earn state approved credential.
9. Maintain program equipment and order program supplies.
10. Assist with the implementation of students' individualized education and health plans.
11. Complete all SIP Self Review and CTEIS documentation.
12. Seek and obtain SIP specific professional development on an annual basis.  
13. Other duties as assigned.
