The Superintendent of Schools announces the following position within the Fall River Public School System:
Position: Facilities & Operations Electrician
Job Description: General electrical repairs in all school facilities for Fall River Public Schools
Performance Responsibilities:
- Performs skilled electrical work at the master level.
- Installs, tests, repairs and maintains electrical circuits, wiring systems, appliances and equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair faulty electrical wiring, defective electrical equipment, and machinery such as motors, generators, transformers, switches, sockets, etc.
- Inspect and test circuits and fixtures to locate broken wires, loose connections, blown fuses or circuit breakers, faulty switches, grounds, shorts and other defects.
- Uses common tools and test equipment such as meters, voltmeters, ammeters, multi meters, and other test equipment.
- May remove, replace and repair electrical parts and components.
- May maintain storage batteries.
- Coordinates or assists with providers of similar contracted services for repairs.
- Supervision of others is not applicable to this position at this present time.
Required Qualifications:
- High School Education or equivalent.
- Completed certified Journey level apprenticeship program
- Massachusetts Journeyman Electrician's License.
- Minimum of five years field experience
- Valid Massachusetts Driver's License
The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative or equivalent to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee.
Reports To: Works independently under Chief Operating Officer or designee (Director of Maintenance Services)
Supervises: No supervision required from the holder of this position at this time.
Terms of Employment: Terms according to contract with Fall River & AFSCME Council 93 Local 1118.
Salary: $75,376.00
