Middle School Social Studies Teacher
Location: Saint Rita School, Solon
Job Type: Full-Time 26-27 School Year
Position Overview:
Saint Rita School is seeking a passionate and dedicated individual to join our faculty as a Middle School Social Studies Teacher. The ideal candidate will be committed to providing a dynamic and engaging learning experience rooted in the values of Catholic education. This position offers an exciting opportunity to inspire and educate middle school students in social studies disciplines within a supportive and collaborative school community.
Responsibilities:
- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons in Social Studies.
- Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment that fosters academic excellence, critical thinking, and spiritual growth.
- Incorporate Catholic values and principles into instruction and classroom discussions.
- Assess student progress regularly through formative and summative assessments, providing timely feedback to students and parents.
- Implement a variety of instructional strategies and resources to meet the diverse needs of learners, including technology integration where appropriate.
- Collaborate with colleagues to align curriculum, share best practices, and promote interdisciplinary connections.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and administrators to support student achievement and well-being.
- Participate in professional development opportunities and school-wide initiatives as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Social Studies, or a related field required
- Valid teaching certification/license in the applicable subject area(s) and grade level.
- Previous experience teaching middle school students, preferably in a Catholic school setting.
- Strong knowledge of social studies curriculum standards and instructional best practices.
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education, including the integration of faith and academics.
- Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills.
- Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of learners.
- Technological proficiency and willingness to integrate technology into instruction.
- Must pass background check and fulfill all requirements for employment in a Catholic school.
