Position: English Teacher
Reports to: Principal
Salary Range: $55,000 - $79,000
General Description: Provide instruction and support to guide students through the high school English curriculum.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop lessons related to the high school English curriculum
- Deliver high-quality instruction related to the high school English curriculum
- Provide academic support to students individually and in small groups
- Review and grade student activities, assignments and assessments
- Implement school curriculum in accord with district standards and requirements
- Maintain and record weekly engagements with both in-person and virtual students
- Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, well-ordered and conducive to student learning
- Check student progress and understanding frequently through curriculum monitoring, group discussions/activities, and 1-1 conversations
- Meet with students regularly to discuss their goals, needs and academic progress
- Actively participate in subject-area Professional Learning Community
- Follow additional directives and assignments given by the Principal

Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree
- MI Teaching Certificate or permit in English
- Satisfactory completion of criminal history check
