POSITION: Technology Systems Specialist
IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Director of Technology
FLSA STATUS: Exempt
EMPLOYMENT TERM: Minimum 261 days annually, pursuant to WV Code §18-5-45; extended employment terms may be established by KCSBOE.
SALARY: Salary in accordance with established pay schedule.
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the Director of Technology in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and KCSBOE Policy Performance Evaluation of School Personnel - Administrative Procedures.
JOB SUMMARY: To support and maintain all technology systems for Kanawha County Schools.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage, configure, deploy and troubleshoot all employee, student, and building technology equipment.
- Support all instructional, administrative, and management software.
- Help install, maintain, troubleshoot, and support the school technology servers including Active Directory and DHCP reservations.
- Install and troubleshoot network equipment including internal and external connections.
- Provides superior support and communicates effectively with all KCS employees, WVDE, and other outside vendors.
- Daily travel to schools to provide on-site support and respond to work orders.
- Other duties as assigned that relate to the above responsibilities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Hold a minimum of an associate's degree from an accredited institution of higher education, as defined in §126-136-4.5
- Already have or be able to obtain within one year the Technology System Specialist licensure and renew it annually, according to WVBE policy 5202.
- Must have a valid driver's license and reliable working car.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception. Occasionally the employee will lift to 50 pounds such as to lift a file or paper.
