Position Summary
The Special Education Teacher plays a vital role in supporting students with diverse learning needs by providing high-quality instruction, collaborating with families and colleagues, and ensuring compliance with special education requirements. This position focuses on fostering academic growth, independence, and confidence while supporting students' social, emotional, and behavioral development.

Key Responsibilities
- Design and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction aligned to student needs.
- Conduct assessments and assist in identifying student learning needs.
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Collaborate with general education staff, service providers, and outside agencies.
- Support students' academic, social, emotional, and behavioral growth.
- Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Communicate and partner with families to support student success.
- Participate in ongoing professional learning, collaboration, and training.
Qualifications
- Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with a Special Education endorsement (all endorsements considered).
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Commitment to supporting all students in reaching their fullest potential.
