Salary: $21.89 per hour
Schedule: Tuesday - Thursday 7:30am - 3:00pm and Friday 7:30am - 2:00pm
Title: Parent Educator – Family Resource Center

Qualifications:
- Parents as Teachers certification preferred. Associates or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have transportation (for home/community visits)
- Bilingual preferred
- Previous experience in home visiting and parenting education to adults or teens individually or in small groups preferred
- Ability to work with community agencies
- Strong interpersonal and writing skills
- Ability to organize and operate independently
- Ability to effectively communicate and interact with parents and staff orally and in writing
- Previous experience working with parents and infants/toddlers preferred
- Working knowledge of computer programs Microsoft Word, Microsoft products and familiarity with database software programs preferred.
Job Description:
- Facilitates parent education workshops, playgroups and family development programs, including home and personal visit using Parents as Teachers curriculum
- Facilitates positive youth development programs
- Facilitates support and training for family child care providers
- Cooperate with related service and support staff of the FRC, elementary school and community agencies to facilitate identification and services to young children and their families
- Assists the FRC Coordinator and staff in planning, implementing and evaluating programs and services offered through the Family Resource Center
- Assist in the coordination of outreach and program scheduling
- Assist in the evaluation and effectiveness of program activities periodically and keeps current with trends and developments in the field
- Provide developmental screenings for infants and toddlers involved in the program
- Follow all guidelines as required by PAT National Center, including certification requirements
- Recommends and arranges for new programs as needed
- Assists in the collaboration with local and state agencies
- Maintains files, document ongoing progress and statistics
- Assist in the promotion of the FRC in the community
- Assist in the publication of bimonthly newsletter for program participants and home day care providers
- Complete all required reporting in a timely manner
- Develop and maintain knowledge of community agencies
- Assist in general office duties as needed
- Responsible for assuming additional duties as agreed upon with the Supervisor of the FRC
