TITLE: CHILD NUTRITION – ELEMENTARY ASSISTANT MANAGER
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Experience with food services and/or school nutrition programs, preferred.
- Ability to perform job duties in a professional and pleasant manner.
- Ability to work successfully under the pressure of daily production and service timelines.
- Able to lift up to 40 lbs, bend, twist, turn, stand / walk continuously.
REPORTS TO: Director of Child Nutrition Services, Child Nutrition Manager, and/or Principal
JOB GOALS: Provide a positive culture for students, staff and parents by serving healthy food options to reflect our commitment to nourish the mind and body of all learners.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Fosters a team environment by assisting all employees with scheduled work demands.
- Communicates and interacts positively with students, teachers, staff, parents, and community members.
- Instructs kitchen personnel in proper lifting techniques, and safe and efficient use and cleaning of all kitchen equipment.
- Maintains the highest standards of safety and cleanliness in the kitchen and cafeteria.
- Prepares food according to a planned menu and tested uniform recipes in proper quantities following dietary guidelines.
- Follows budgetary guidelines to reduce waste and unnecessary inventory.
- Ensures served food is of the best quality both in flavor and appearance.
- Serves food in an efficient and timely manner.
- Periodically works each position in the kitchen suggesting improvements, where needed.
- Assists manager to ensures accurate records are kept for all food served, ordered, and inventoried.
- Communicates quality control issues and/or accidents to the manager and director.
- Obtains and maintains all necessary certifications and licenses, including School Nutrition and MN Department of Health Food Manager.
- Assists manager with marketing and promoting services to attract students, staff, and parents.
- Attends job related training classes and workshops.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: As per the contract agreement.
