Cafe and Book Store Aide

Applications are being accepted for the position of Cafe and Book Store Aide with the East Valley Institute of Technology. This is a full-time, 12-month position located at our 1601 West Main Street Campus, Mesa, AZ The hours are M-F 8:00 - 4:30.  

Job Summary:  The Cafe and Bookstore Aide supports the Cafe and Bookstore Manager in the daily operations of EVIT's onsite cafe and campus bookstore. This position is responsible for providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and the public while ensuring efficient bookstore and cafe operations, food safety compliance, and a clean, organized environment. This position will also be responsible for stocking the campus vending machines.

Job Type: Full Time, 12 Month Hourly, Non-Exempt
 

Salary: This position starts at $19.06 Placement in the range will be based on a combination of education, industry related experience and certification. 

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to operate standard business machines including cash register, 10-key calculator and computer terminal.
• Ability to be bonded

Preferred Qualifications:

• Barista experience is desirable.
• One year of cooking experience in a restaurant or cafe.
   

Licensing /Certification and Other Requirements:

• Maricopa County Food Handler's Certificate before the employee's start date.
• Valid Arizona Department of Public Safety Identity Prints (IVP) Level 1 fingerprint card.
• Proof of immunization against or immunity to measles and rubella if born after January 1, 1957.
