Description
TITLE: ATHLETIC DIRECTOR
CONTRACT TERMS: 10 Month (as needed over summer)
SALARY CLASSIFICATION: Certified + Stipend
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: Assists the Principal in administering the schools athletics and educational programs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Conduct evaluations on all coaching staff.- Assist coaches in interviewing and making recommendations for employment of all personnel and all volunteers involved in athletics;
- Implement and enforce all District and athletic policies and procedures;
- Create and enforce a sports handbook that includes all HS and AIA athletic policies and procedures and sport’s specific policies and procedures;
- Coordinate and implement a coaches meeting to communicate athletic handbook and coaching expectations;
- Coordinate and supervise all home athletic events;
- Prepare semester and year-end outcomes;
- Coordinate and supervise all home game referees and/or umpires;
- Assist coaches in matters related to discipline and ensures supervision of athletes before, during and after games;
- Coordinate and supervise maintenance services including field set-up and work order procedures;
- Communicate and update the master schedule of all athletic activities, including athletic field trips;
- Communicate with the attendance clerk all athletic field trips;
- Coordinate inventory of all athletic uniforms and equipment;
- Coordinate and implement all repairs and replacement of athletic equipment to ensure optimal safety;
- Conduct student eligibility status each week and communicate with coaches student eligibility status;
- Coordinate and schedule the use of all high school facilities for athletic and non-athletic events, including the auxiliary gym, main gym, weight room, wrestling room, tennis courts and athletic fields;
- Assist coaches with the coordination of any home athletic tournaments;
- Supervise and coordinate the budgetary process for all athletics;
- Coordinate with coaches all equipment needs for Capital Budget Request;
- Prepare and submit Capital Request for athletic department;
- Oversee and manage athletic website;
- Fundraise for entire athletic department through advertisement, tax credit, and donations;
- Acts as liaison between HS and AIA;
- Coordinate and oversee the reteach session (MYP/Power Hour);
- Coordinate and supervise testing and assessment programs for AzMerit, Galileo/ATI, ASVAB, PSAT, AIMS Science, and AP;
- Assumes general administrative duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
A. REQUIRED EDUCATION, TRAINING & EXPERIENCE- Valid Arizona Teaching Certification;
- Valid Arizona Administrative Certificate Preferred;
- Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card.
