POSITION SPECIFICATION
POSITION TITLE: DISTRICT TECHNICAL ASSOCIATE
CLASSIFIED POSITION - 12 MONTHS
REPORTS TO: APPLICATION & DATA SERVICES MANAGER
QUALIFICATIONS: TWO YEARS OF COLLEGE/TECHNICAL SCHOOL OR THREE TO FIVE YEARS RELATED JOB EXPERIENCE
EXPERIENCE WORKING WITH STUDENT INFORMATION SYSTEMS OR EDUCATIONAL DATA PLATFORMS
SUMMARY:
The District Technical Associate supports districtwide student information and data systems, ensuring accurate and reliable data. This role develops district and school-level reports, maintains data across multiple platforms, and provides staff training on Skyward reporting and data mining. This position supports staff and students at Delta & Summit Learning Center approximately two days per week.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Student Information System & Data Support
Support operations in the district Student Information System (Skyward), including maintenance of student records and data updates.
Monitor and support data integrity across district data systems by assisting with data validation, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating corrections with appropriate staff.
Assist with updates and data submissions within the Illinois State Student Information System and other state-mandated systems.
Set up and maintain staff, student, and parent accounts within district data systems as directed.
Data Reporting and Analysis
Develop, prepare, and deliver data reports and presentations for administrators and staff.
Assist in implementing consistent methods and dashboards for reporting student and school data.
Support administrators and staff in accessing, analyzing, and interpreting educational and student data.
Support state and federal reporting requirements related to student information and educational data.
Training & Staff Support
Provide training and ongoing support to administrators and staff on student data systems and reporting tools.
Support district data integrity by assisting staff with proper data entry practices and helping resolve issues that may affect reporting accuracy.
Train staff on Skyward data mining, advanced reporting, and best practices for creating, exporting, and distributing reports.
Provide training and support for approved third-party data platforms.
Assist staff in effectively using data systems to support instructional and operational decision-making.
Coordination & Collaboration
Collaborate with the Application & Data Services Manager to support district data initiatives and reporting needs.
Work collaboratively with Technology, Curriculum, and Administrative teams to ensure data systems align with district goals and instructional priorities.
Communicate data issues, trends, and system concerns to the Application & Data Services Manager.
Delta & Summit Technology Support
Provide onsite technology support at Delta & Summit Learning Center as assigned.
Provide troubleshooting and support for Skyward and district-approved applications and operating systems.
Support teachers and students with technology-based instructional tools, including iPad apps and resources.
Provide troubleshooting and support for school communications platforms, including Edlio, ParentSquare, Watchfire, Carousel, and other district-supported tools.
Working Conditions
Work in a fast-paced educational environment requiring strong organizational, communication, and time management skills.
Balance multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining data accuracy, confidentiality, and compliance.
Regularly walk between classrooms and offices; sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
Perform occasional physical tasks, including lifting equipment, bending, and working in confined spaces.
Must have reliable transportation to travel between district buildings.
Occasional evening or weekend work may be needed to support district events or technology operations outside the regular school day.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
Compensation is established per the Technology pay schedule in Appendix III of the Support Staff Professional Agreement located on the District website.
Position includes health and dental insurance and basic life insurance coverage consistent with contract provisions.
