Join a School That's Building Something Different
Regional Multicultural Magnet School (RMMS) is seeking educators with a pioneering spirit to help expand our highly successful K–5 program into the middle grades. This is a rare opportunity to help design and shape a middle school experience from the ground up—one rooted in innovation, purpose, and possibility.
At RMMS, we believe teaching should be creative, collaborative, and deeply meaningful. Our middle school program is built on a project-based learning model grounded in multicultural perspectives, inviting teachers to design engaging, relevant learning experiences that connect to the real world.
What Makes RMMS Different?
- Design and Create: Teachers are empowered to build rich, interdisciplinary project-based curriculum that sparks curiosity and engagement.
- Collaborate with Purpose: Our schedule is intentionally designed to provide meaningful collaboration time, allowing teams to plan, innovate, and respond to student needs together.
- Support the Whole Child: We prioritize student success through a focus on executive functioning skills, helping students grow as independent, capable learners.
- Learn and Grow as a Professional: Teachers engage in high-quality, nationally recognized professional learning, including:
- Project-Based Learning with the Buck Institute for Education.
- Multicultural Education with the German Group.
- Bilingual Instruction with Participate Learning.
- Lead in Dual Language Innovation: RMMS is home to the only Spanish/English dual language program in Southeastern Connecticut, where students develop bilingualism and biliteracy by eighth grade.
We are especially eager to connect with bilingual educators, who play a vital role in advancing our dual language mission.
Who Thrives at RMMS?
Educators who:
- Want more than a traditional teaching role.
- Are energized by innovation and collaboration.
- Believe in culturally responsive, equity-driven, student-centered learning.
- Are excited to help build something new and meaningful.
