Description
The Gilbert School in Winsted CT is seeking qualified candidates to apply for the position of School Business Manager.
Full-time position, Monday-Friday 7:30am – 3:30 pm. Work hours during summer and school vacation hours adjusted. Medical, dental, and life insurance benefits available. Participation in school's retirement account as per contract. Paid vacation days and holidays.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, minimum
- Three (3) years of Accounting experience
- Strong computer skills with Microsoft Word, Excel, Google docs,etc
- Such other qualifications of academic, professional, an/or personal experience
Duties & Responsiblities:
- Manage, monitor & report fiscal condition of school accounts
- Daily financial accounting for school accounts including accounts receivable, accounts payable, financial reports, fixed assets, etc
- Budget preparation with Head of School, department chairmen, teachers
- Monitor budget expenditures, account balances
- Work closely with School Purchasing Agent
- Personnel areas including payroll, retirement accounts, insurance benefits, year-end forms, familiarity with COBRA, FMLA, CT FML laws, etc
- Attendance at monthly Board meetings and Finance Committee meetings, some of which will extend beyond the normal workday hours
- Monitor insurance information re: athletic injuries and/or workmen's compensation issues
- Monitor grants income and expenses for school
- Maintain familiarity with union contracts, including but not limited to salaries, employment benefits, etc
- Preparation of year end paperwork, reports and documents for annual School audit.
- Additional duties as assigned by the Head of School
Salary Range:
Pursuant to experience and credentials- $70,000-$90,000.
