Description

Southern Oregon Education Service District (SOESD) Early Childhood Services (ECS), a widely recognized early childhood special education program committed to inclusion, family partnership, and developmentally appropriate practices, invites applications for a Speech & Language Pathologist at the Gilbert Creek Child Development Center in Grants Pass.
 
ECS has been designated a 5 star program through Spark, Oregon's quality rating and improvement system.  Our transdisciplinary team of 25 dedicated teachers, assistants, family consultants, therapists, evaluators, and office professionals are focused on authentic and supportive relationships, professional growth through coaching and mentoring, and maintaining a "family feel" to our workplace. We intentionally implement a tiered approach for developing children's early language, literacy, and social-emotional skills, and have designed a variety of environments and experiences to address the unique and varied learning needs of the children we serve.

Speech & Language Pathologist (Birth - Age 5)

Position Goal:   To help students communicate appropriately through the planning, implementation, and evaluation of individualized education programs.

Essential Functions:

  1. Assessing individual educational speech-language needs of students and making recommendations
  2. Preparing individual educational programs and materials.
  3. Delivering effective speech-language therapy to identified students.
  4. Consulting with parents to integrate home and school goals.
  5. Assisting schools in multidisciplinary, IEP, placement, intervention, and other educational decisions.
  6. Providing consultations to teachers regarding speech-language interventions.
  7. Establishing and maintaining positive, flexible, and cooperative relationships with ESD and local district staff.
  8. Making independent decisions within established policies and procedures.
  9. Preparing accountability records regarding services provided.
  10. Communicating clearly and appropriately.
  11. Participating in professional growth activities.
  12. Complying with local district and ESD rules and policies.
  13. Performing physical requirements unaided or with the assistance of reasonable accommodation.
  14. Performing job-related tasks as designated by the supervisor.


Minimum Pre-Requisites:

  1. Successful completion of an approved speech pathology program.
  2. Oregon teachers' license with speech impaired endorsement and acquire Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license, or
  3. Oregon Health Board of Examiners' speech pathology license.


Location:  In person at ECSE Ramsey Learning Center at 711 SW Ramsey Ave Building A, Grants Pass, Oregon 97527
Length of Position: 0.6-1.0 FTE / 190 days (academic year)
Salary:  Per licensed collective bargaining agreement for 2026-2027 school year: $62,576.96 to $107,893.12 annually. 
Immediate Supervisor: Department Administrator
