FACILITIES - CLEANER

Job Description
The Massapequa Public Schools currently have openings for friendly, energetic and reliable Cleaners to join our team. The chosen candidates will be hard-working, dedicated team-players who take pride in providing a clean, orderly environment for our students and staff.

Job Responsibilities

*Sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, washing walls, windows and other equipment/facilities, emptying waste baskets, disposing of assorted rubbish, refilling paper towels, toilet paper, etc
*Cleansing and disinfecting of bathrooms, kitchens and other areas 
*Set-up/move/remove furniture for various building needs
*Secure windows/doors and other areas
*Remove snow/leaves/debris from the immediate vicinity of buildings
*General painting and other basic maintenance tasks
*Other basic tasks as assigned by their supervisor
 

Job Qualifications

*Ability to communicate clearly 
*Ability to lift as much as 50 lbs
*Ability to stand/walk most of the work day
*Ability to work overtime
*Ability to pass a background screening by Civil Service. Fingerprinting will be necessary at employee's own expense.
