Position Overview

Greenville ISD is seeking a skilled and dependable Accompanist (Aide) to support the Fine Arts program at Greenville High School. This position provides musical accompaniment and instructional support for choir and/or other performing arts programs.

Primary Purpose

Provide piano accompaniment and instructional support to enhance student performance and instruction in the Fine Arts program while assisting the director with classroom and program needs.

Qualifications

Education / Certification:

• High school diploma or GED required
  
   
• Ability to obtain a Texas Educational Aide Certificate (certification may be obtained through the District)
  
   
• Completion of the ParaSkills Course through STEDI.org (course will be purchased by the District)
  
   

Special Knowledge / Skills:

• Proficient piano skills with the ability to sight-read music
  
   
• Knowledge of vocal and/or instrumental music practices preferred
  
   
• Ability to follow direction from the Fine Arts teacher/director
  
   
• Strong organizational and communication skills
  
   
• Ability to work effectively with high school students
  
   

Experience:

• Experience as a pianist or accompanist preferred
  
   
• Experience in a school or performance setting preferred
  
   

Major Responsibilities and Duties

Musical Support

• Provide piano accompaniment for rehearsals, performances, and events
  
   
• Assist students during practice and performance preparation
  
   
• Support music instruction as directed by the teacher
  
   

Instructional & Classroom Support

• Assist with preparation of music materials and classroom setup
  
   
• Support classroom management and student engagement
  
   
• Assist during rehearsals, concerts, and events
  
   

Program Support

• Assist with Fine Arts performances and activities
  
   
• Support logistics for concerts, contests, and events
  
   

Professional Responsibilities

• Participate in staff development and campus meetings as assigned
  
   
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Fine Arts director
  
   

Working Conditions

• Frequent sitting (piano performance) and standing during rehearsals
  
   
• Evening or after-school events may be required
  
   
• Ability to maintain focus and professionalism during performances
