To assist in supervising the Coordinator of School Age Child Care Programs and the district's school year before and after school child care program to ensure a safe and nurturing environment for all participating students and families through quality programming.
Work hours: This is a full-time (40 hours/week) position. The schedule may vary based on program needs and can include split shifts, standard daytime hours (8:00–5:00 or 9:30–6:30), and occasional additional hours as required.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree in related field preferred
- Experience in education, recreation or closely related field involving coordination or directing a daycare, school age child care program and/or summer camp program preferred
- Knowledge of basic computer technology, or willingness to acquire and appropriately apply such knowledge
- Knowledge of positive behavior management strategies
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to problem solve daily experiences to protect the health, safety, and welfare of children
Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Assists with planning and implementation of developmentally appropriate programs that comply with Ohio Department of Education and the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services regulations and guidelines
- Supports an inclusive educational environment
- Assists with recruitment or training of before/after school staff to implement program objectives and function as part of a cohesive team
- Supervises assigned staff
- Assists with the evaluation of assigned staff
- Maintains record-keeping such as student records, inventory, and staff scheduling
- Actively leads, supports, or participates in professional development opportunities for staff
- Assists with the development of program materials and resources as directed
- Assists in management of program budgets when necessary
- Works with district representatives to insure student, staff and visitor safety and welfare in program spaces
- Assists with before and/or after school transitions for students with elementary school administrators and the transportation department
- Demonstrates effective communication systems with parents and school staff
- Acts as a program advocate and liaison
- Maintains the confidentiality of privileged or protected information
- Serves as a role model for students and staff in the practice of ethical principles, responsible behavior and democratic values
- Maintains a professional appearance
- Performs any/all other job functions determined by the administration

- While performing the duties of the job the employee frequently is required to hear conversation in quiet, as well as, a noisy environment and be able to tell where a sound is coming from.

Terms, Compensation and Benefits:
The successful candidate(s) will be offered a one-year, two-hundred twenty one day contract excluding vacation, personal, and holidays as eligible via the Educational Service Center of Central Ohio (ESCCO) as a contracted service for the New Albany-Plain Local Schools. Salary range of $45,000-$60,000; placement commensurate with proven experience and skills based upon job qualifications and performance responsibilities outlined herein. Comprehensive benefits, as eligible. Other terms and conditions of employment as applicable via the ESCCO.
