Job/FLSA Status: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Department: Building Control
Reports to: Assistant Principal


Position summary: Greets visitors and provides clerical services to the administration.

Role Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required;
  • Associate's degree preferred;
  • Bilingual (English-Spanish) preferred.


Position responsibilities:

  • Greets and directs students, parents, vendors, employees, community members, etc.;
  • Scans visitors' identification cards using the school's visitor tracking system;
  • Answers and directs phone calls;
  • Answers communications from staff, applicants, and parents (e-mails, phone calls, letters);
  • Schedules appointments for the administration;
  • Prepares identification cards for students and staff;
  • Assists administration with the student intake and enrollment processes;
  • Updates school  bulletin boards;
  • Covers meal periods/breaks for other clerical staff;
  • Other duties as assigned.

 
Essential skills and experience:

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook and Word;
  • Knowledge of basic office procedures and operation of office machines/equipment;
  • Must be discreet and maintain strict confidentiality on student and personnel matters;
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
  • Must maintain courtesy and professionalism with colleagues, parents, students, and other visitors.

 
Valued but not required skills and experience: 

  • Experience as a receptionist or equivalent preferred;
  • Experience working in a high school setting.
