Kids Company Student Support for Summer Program - Multiple Positions

HOURS/DAY: Varies

RATE OF PAY: $12.76 per hour

Terms of employment in accordance with the applicable terms and conditions for the position.

SUMMARY:

To assist the Site Leader in providing a well-planned, organized, and enriching Kids' Company Program. The position supports the supervision and engagement of children in a safe, supportive, and stimulating environment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

This class specification lists the major duties and requirements of the job and is not all-inclusive. Incumbent(s) may be expected to perform job-related duties other than those contained in this document and may be required to have specific job-related knowledge and skills.

• Assist the Site Leader in planning, implementing and carrying out daily activities.

• Supervise children's activities, including set-up and clean-up, and ensure all safety rules are followed.

• Support and implement discipline procedures as needed when directly involved with the situation.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

• Actively participate in games, projects, and activities, serving as a positive role model and leader.

• Maintain program supplies and communicate with the Site Leader when additional materials are needed.

• Be available to work on release days as scheduled by the Site Leader or Kids' Company Coordinator.

• Communicate any concerns, incidents, or unusual situations to the Site Leader and/or Coordinator.

• Attend staff meetings and recommended training programs to meet in-service training requirements.

• Promote teamwork, excellent customer service, and a positive image of the program to colleagues, students, parents, and the community.

• Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with district and program policies.

• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education and Experience:

• At least 16 years of age.

Required Certificates, Licenses, and Registrations:

Continued employment is contingent upon all required licenses and certificates being maintained in active status without suspension or revocation.

• Current First Aid and CPR certification (Candidates without certification will attend trainings after hire to be certified)

Required Knowledge:

• District policies and procedures.

• Confidentiality requirements related to students and families.

• Basic understanding of emergency response and incident reporting protocols.

Required Skills:

• Ability to support individual students and small groups.

• Clear and professional communication with supervisors, coworkers, students and families.

• Demonstrate reliability and accountability when responding to daily tasks and unexpected circumstances.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT:

Work is performed in multiple settings including but not limited to, classrooms, playgrounds, cafeterias, gymnasiums, and multipurpose rooms.
