- TITLE: Executive Director of Instruction & Learning
II. POSITION SUMMARY:
The Executive Director of Instruction & Learning is a pivotal leadership role within School District 91, responsible for providing strategic direction and coordination of K-12 curriculum, assessment, professional development, and digital integration initiatives. Reporting directly to the Superintendent of Schools, this position plays a critical role in supporting the district's mission and maximizing student achievement through effective curriculum implementation and instructional support.
III. QUALIFICATIONS:
- Valid Idaho School Administrator Certificate.
- Previous experience in educational administration as a building principal.
- Teaching/supervisory experience totaling ten or more years.
- Minimum of four years of full-time certificated experience working with students, Pre-K-12, while under contract in a school setting.
- Previous experience in curriculum development, assessment, professional development, and digital integration.
- Ability to work with students, staff, parents, and the public.

IV. JOB GOALS:
To support the delivery of School District 91's written, taught, tested and reported curriculum and contribute to maximizing student achievement.
To provide leadership in the development, implementation, and coordination of the district's K-12 curriculum, assessment, professional development, and digital integration.
- PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop, align, adopt, and evaluate K-12 curriculum, ensuring coherence and rigor across all grade levels and subject areas.
- Lead the development, implementation, and evaluation of staff training and professional development supporting curriculum, instruction, assessment, and digital integration.
- Promote instructional technology and identify areas of curriculum and instruction best served by technology use
- Develop and maintain a system for the distribution of assessment data for use by the professional staff.
- Partner with the IT Director to ensure smooth rollout and ongoing support of digital learning products
- Collaborate with other members of the District Leadership Team to plan and implement district-wide initiatives.
- Supervise and coordinate Federal Programs and Special Education personnel, including district level directors, and programs.
- Supervise coordinators of curriculum, assessment, and digital integration.
- Assist in the development and coordination of the sections of the budget pertaining to curriculum, assessment, professional development, and digital integration.
- Develop & Oversee implementation, professional development, and evaluation of district curriculum and technology adoptions.
- Supervise the assessment program of the district, including state and district-wide programs.
- Lead coordinators to identify and evaluate appropriate programs to support teaching and learning.
- Direct the creation of all print and electronic curriculum and instructional technology resources.
- Communicate the adopted curriculum to the professional staff and maintain a library of adopted instructional materials.
- Facilitate grade level and departmental meetings to ensure horizontal and vertical alignment of the instructional program.
- Maintain a current common course manual and assist with managing and planning D91 Online Academy.
- Prepare periodic reports for presentation to district administrators, the Board of Trustees, and other community groups as appropriate.
- Attend Board of Trustee meetings as directed.
- Seek out opportunities for professional growth.
- Maintain high standards of ethical behavior and confidentiality of student information.
- OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
- TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The annual contract will be based on 232 days of service (twelve months). Benefits will be in accordance with approved board policy. Salary will be $120,000-$145,000. depending on years of experience and education.
- EVALUATION:
Performance of this position will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent of Schools in accordance with board policy.
