Job Summary
The job of the Paraprofessional provides support to the instructional process by serving as a support to the Lead Teacher. The paraprofessional will assist with specific responsibility for developing students' ability to effectively perform courses of study; implementing lesson plans and delivering group and individual student instruction within established curriculum guidelines; collaborating with key stakeholders in achieving student success; and ensuring federal and state compliance in regards to regulations.
Job responsibilities include:
- Support/assist with Administering tests and assessments for the purpose of evaluating student ability
- Support/assist with Advising parents and/or legal guardians of student progress for the purpose of communicating expectations; student achievement; developing methods for improvement and/or reinforcing classroom goals in the home environment.
- Support/assist with Adapting classroom work for the purpose of providing students with instructional materials that address individualized learning plans within established lesson plans and building academic and content knowledge.
- Support/assist with Collaborating with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents and a variety of community resources for the purpose of improving the overall quality of student outcomes, achieving established classroom objectives in support of the school improvement plan
- Support/assist with Instructing students for the purpose of improving their success in academics and skills.
- Support/assist with Advocating for the needs of students with teachers and leaders
- Support/assist with Ensuring compliance with state and federal mandates for students
- Support/assist with Providing interventions to students and support teachers in providing instruction within the classroom
- Support/assist with Maintaining an open line of communication between family and school in an effort to build relationships
- Support/assist with Modifying and adapt lessons to meet the needs of all students
- All other duties as assigned related to lunch/recess duty, teacher support, needs of the department
Qualifications:
- Relevant: 3 years (Required)
- High School Diploma (required)
- Bachelor's Degree (Preferred)
- Bilingual (Preferred)
