Music Teacher – Anticipated (2026–2027 School Year)

COMPENSATION: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement located on the DY website.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Collaborate with school administration to organize musical programs for civic functions and school productions.
• Maintain student grading and attendance records.
• Teach skills in music understanding/appreciation, harmony, explorations in music and choral music in relation to the level being taught.
• Teach general styles of music along with classical piano, practices and theory.
• Teach singing to students from beginner to advanced levels.
• Preparing students for school concerts and planned music experiences.
• Deep understanding of music theory, music education and general music.
• Promote learning and growth of all students and create a safe and effective classroom environment with cultural proficiency.
• Maintain student behavioral standards to ensure a productive and disciplined environment during group rehearsals, practices and performances.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Massachusetts certification in area of music K-12.
• Knowledge of choral techniques
• SEI qualified

• Citizenship, residency or work visa required
