Cross Country Assistant Coach

Minimum Stipend Offered: $3,089

Purpose Statement

Extra-curricular activities serve as a vital extension of the student experience. The Cross Country Assistant Coach supports the head coach in providing instruction, mentorship, and leadership while promoting skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive character traits.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the head coach in all aspects of the cross country program
• Support the planning and implementation of practices, training strategies, and race preparation
• Reinforce team values, sportsmanship, and positive conduct
• Build positive relationships with student-athletes, staff, families, and the school community
• Assist with monitoring student eligibility and compliance with district and state guidelines
• Collaborate with the head coach, athletic directors, and building administrators

Job Requirements

Education and Certification:

• Completion of 60 or more college credit hours prior to coaching

• Qualified External Candidates

Work Environment

• Practices and competitions take place on campus and at off-site locations
• Evening and weekend commitments are required during the season
