Anticipated Teacher of Special Education (LLD) ~ 2025-2026 School Year

Location: Benedict A. Cucinella School

Start Date:  March 2026

• Appropriate Certificate Required (i.e. TOH or TOSD)
• Innovative, child-centered professional
• Knowledge of New Jersey Student Learning Standards.
• Prior experience/familiarity with multi-sensory reading approaches & diagnostics.
• Knowledge/application of research-based, developmentally appropriate content area instructional strategies.
• Experience working with students with learning disabilities and/or cognitive impairments in a school setting.
• Strong understanding of IEP development, progress monitoring, and data collection.
• Ability to manage a classroom with a wide range of academic and functional levels.
• Familiarity with life skills curriculum and community-based instruction.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Preferred:

• Experience in a self-contained or LLD classroom in a middle school setting.
• Knowledge of multisensory reading programs (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, IMSE).
• Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or behavior management strategies.
• Experience with functional academic programs and transition planning for secondary students.
• Experience in ELA and Social Studies.
• Comfort integrating technology and adaptive tools into instruction.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

Salary Range:  $65,315 - $78,520
