PRIMARY TASKS & MAJOR ACTIVITIES
Teach Physical Science and Forensic Science. Responsible for planning lessons, carrying out effective instruction, and evaluating student progress toward learning goals. Accountable for creating a positive and productive classroom learning environment. Must be able to work effectively as a member of a Professional Learning Community in a team environment. Participate in District and Building Professional Development opportunities. Implementation of High School Science curriculum and engaging students in high levels of learning. Communicate effectively with parents on student comprehension and progress. Support the High School building improvement plan.
EDUCATIONAL/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Current Missouri Certification in Unified Science, Chemistry or Biology in Grades 9-12 REQUIRED. A Master's degree in Physics or Chemistry is preferred. A strong knowledge of End-of-Course Examinations, Missouri Learning Standards, and effective instructional strategies. Willingness to collaborate with peers. An interest in coaching or sponsoring extracurricular activities desired. Willingness to understand and support the District's Comprehensive School Improvement Plan. Must successfully pass a background check and drug test that are satisfactory to the Board of Education.
