TITLE:                                 VAN DRIVER- EMPLOYEE ROUTE             
 
QUALIFICATIONS:         High school diploma or equivalent.
Possess current licensing issued by State of Illinois
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.
 
REPORTS TO:                  DIRECTOR OF ENROLLMENT & TRANSPORTATION

 
JOB GOAL:                                       
To provide safe and efficient transportation of employees
 
Performance Responsibilities:
 

• Maintain assigned schedule;
• Transport only authorized employees;
• Obey all traffic laws;
• Observe all mandatory safety regulations for transportation vehicles;
• Notify the proper authority in case of equipment failure;
• Keep assigned vehicle clean and fueled;
• No preventable accidents;
• No idles over 10 minutes;
• Check mailbox before every run;
• Maintains regular attendance;
• Report all accidents, complete required reports and cooperate with investigating authorities;
• Follow all department procedures and policies as outlined in department handbook and any updates and addendums as added throughout the year.

 
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
 

Regular Routes

 

• Sit 5 hours a day (1 to 2 hours per route);
• Ability to apply pressure to the gas pedal and/or brake pedal;

 
 
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:      174 Days Classified position salary and hours to be established by the Board of Education.
 
EVALUATION:                                  Performance will be evaluated annually in accordance with the provisions established by the Board of Education.
 
SALARY RANGE:                            Per Transportation Contract - Starting wage $15.00 - Increases occur after approved licensure.
