Job Responsibilities:
We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Part-Time Bus Driver to transport students and/or participants to and from field trips, extracurricular activities, and special events. This position offers a flexible schedule and averages around 20 hours per month, making it perfect for retirees, freelancers, or anyone looking to earn extra income with a flexible commitment.
- Provides safe and efficient transportation for students
- Observes and obeys all traffic laws and state and federal safety regulations
- Adheres to District safety and discipline requirements
- Interacts with students and staff in a positive manner
- Completes paperwork and reports as required
- Reports bus mechanical problems
- Assists in monitoring behavior, situations, and seating while students are on the bus
- Keeps bus clean and presentable at all times
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Knowledge of state and federal safety regulations and traffic laws
- Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to identified mechanical or safety issues
- Ability to evacuate a bus in the event of an emergency
- Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with students and staff
- Ability to follow and issue directions
- Skill, dedication, and aptitude for working with students
- Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds
- Ability to maintain student confidentiality
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time, stop, bend, lift and carry items up to 50lbs
- Montana Bus Driver Certification upon employment with proper endorsements
- Clean driving record
- Pre-employment physical
- Clear criminal background check
