Reports To: Coordinator of Special Projects Development and Operations

Salary: This is a full-time, twelve (12) month position at 232 days with a minimum annual salary of $63,972. This is a grant-funded position and continued employment is contingent upon grant renewal.

Job Summary (Primary Purpose):  The Production Specialist will provide editorial, research, project management, and technical expertise to develop products and facilitate events for Special Projects' programs. This position will oversee product development from inception to completion.

Required Qualification (Knowledge, Skills & Education/Certificates):

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in product development or operational support
  • Experience in complex projects
Preferred Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills & Education/Certificates):
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign
  • Proficiency with editorial content review and publishing print or digital products
  • Ability to develop a product from inception to completion: organizing content, developing structure, applying branding, completing edits, and managing production and publication
  • Strong organizational, communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
  • Skill operating within a complex project, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines
  • Knowledge of editorial rules and best practice including grammar, spelling, punctuation, formatting, quality assurance, etc. in both print and digital formats
  • Skill providing customer support, conference logistics, and facilitating in-person or virtual meetings utilizing an array of technologies
  • Knowledge of ADA/504 accessibility standards and accessibility tools for digital products
  • Experience with project management, including development and implementation of
  • work flows and timelines and experience with project management programs such as Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Google Suite.
  • Knowledge of web development practices, including content review, quality assurance, site usability, and familiarity with HTML, CMS and/or LMS platforms.
  • Knowledge of copyright and permissions clearing processes
  • Proficiency in Adobe InDesign, Microsoft Office 365, and Smartsheet applications
Major Job Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
  • Serve as a representative of ESC Region 13, displaying courtesy, tact, consideration, and discretion in all interactions with other members of the educational community and with the public.
  • Content Development & Distribution: Oversee the production and distribution of professional development products, ensuring accessibility standards (e.g., ADA compliance) are met across all print and digital formats.
  • Editorial Oversight: Manage editorial workflows by applying established style guides to written content and design elements, performing quality control reviews to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Meeting & Event Coordination: Plan and facilitate virtual and in-person meetings, including developing run-of-show plans, supporting presenters, managing logistics, and compiling follow-up reports.
  • Project Systems & Workflow Management: Create and manage efficient project workflows using tools such as Smartsheet, SharePoint, and Google Workspace to ensure team alignment and task tracking.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct comprehensive quality reviews of various media formats—including documents, books, online courses, and videos—to assess functionality, readability, and user experience.
  • Multimedia Production Support: Coordinate video production activities including scripting, casting, scheduling, shoot logistics, and post-production review. Manage captioning and final deliverables to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Digital Resource Management: Maintain and update digital content using content management systems (CMS) and/or learning management systems (LMS).
  • Documentation & Training: Develop and maintain technical assistance guides and process documentation to support project implementation and stakeholder training.
  • Strategic Project Direction: Provide appropriate direction for projects as they evolve, based on proven research-based industry trends.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
