Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Position: Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach

Reports To: Athletic Director

Early College School at Delaware State University  is seeking a Head Varsity Boys Basketball Coach.  The chosen candidate will be responsible for coaching, character development and providing direction to scholar athletes so that they might achieve a high level of skill as well as an appreciation for discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork in basketball.

Responsibilities:

1. Coaches individual participants in the skill necessary for achievement in the sport involved.
2. Plans and schedules a regular program of practice (in season).
3. Works closely with the athletic director in scheduling interscholastic contests.
4. Recommends purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms.
5. Maintains attendance, and other records.
6. Oversees the safety of the facility or area in which assigned sport is conducted.
7. Establishes performance criteria for eligibility in interscholastic competition.
8. Maintains discipline and authority over scholars according to the ECS@DSU Athletic Handbook.
9. Performs other duties as assigned by the athletic director that relate to this position.

 
Terms of Employment: Employed for the duration of the sport’s season and per terms of the offer letter.
 
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be reviewed seasonally/annually by the athletic director in consultation with the Head of School.

Salary: Salary will be calculated based of the ECS@DSU salary schedule for coaching staff.
