Description
Student Services Receptionist
Position Purpose: To welcome and direct students and parents to the correct person in Student Services as well as assisting the Assistant Principals and Counselors in various projects. This includes backing up the ISS monitor, AP’s secretary, attendance clerk, and guidance secretary being capable of fulfilling any role in their absence.
Essential Job Functions:
- Use student database to look up schedules, lockers, bus assignments, and other such information.
- Run reports in Skyward, our student database
- Utilize Excel or Sheets to chart information
- Create appealing displays around Student Services
- Contact parents as needed on behalf of other personnel
- Prepare letters to parents as needed and utilizing the mail merge function for large quantities
- Email teachers as needed on behalf of other personnel
- Collaborate on projects with other Student Service secretaries
- Cover for other Student Service secretaries as needed due to breaks or absences
- Cover the In-School Suspension room for breaks or absences
- Assist with cafeteria supervision as needed
- Assist with occasional after-school events such as orientation or awards programs
- Other duties as needed
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:
- Typing skills above 60 WPM
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel, and Publisher and with the similar Google products such as Documents, Sheets, and Slides.
- Provide excellent customer service to parents and staff
- Can work independently and with initiative with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to physically walk to various parts of the building
- Willingness to cover other duties as needed
- Beneficial but not essential: previous experience using a student database
Equipment: Use standard office equipment such as computers, printers, scanners, copiers, and telephone.
Travel Requirements: Travel to and from district buildings for meetings or training as needed on rare occasions.
Pay Rate: $15.61/hr; 8 hrs/day; 185 days
