Kake City School District is seeking a dedicated and flexible Special Education Teacher to serve students in grades PreK–12. This position supports a small, rural school community of approximately 100 students in Kake, Alaska.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide specialized instruction to students with a range of disabilities, from mild/moderate to severe.
Develop and implement IEPs in collaboration with general education staff and families.
Deliver services across multiple grade levels and settings (pull-out, push-in, inclusive).
Monitor student progress and adjust instruction based on individual needs.
Maintain compliance with all state and federal special education requirements.
Qualifications:
Must hold a valid Alaska Type C Special Education teaching certificate.
Experience working with a variety of disability categories required.
Prior Alaska teaching experience strongly preferred.
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
