SCHEDULE:  10 MONTH (SEPT. - JUNE), MONDAYS & THURSDAYS 12:00PM - 1:45PM SCHOOL DAYS ONLY
LOCATION:  IMMANUEL LUTHERAN SCHOOL

Immanuel Lutheran School (ILCS) is seeking a passionate and driven Band Teacher to lead our Beginning and Advanced Band programs. This part-time role is a unique opportunity to share the gift of music while cultivating students’ growth—academically, and artistically. The ideal candidate will be committed to fostering a love of music in every rehearsal and interaction.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Teach Beginning Band (5th grade) and Advanced Band (6th–8th grade) twice weekly.
• Instruct students in music theory, instrumental technique, and ensemble performance.
• Plan and lead rehearsals that are engaging, structured, and growth-focused.
• Prepare students for school concerts and chapel performances.
• Maintain clear communication with students, families, and school staff.
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment.

 Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Music Education 
• Valid teaching certification
• Experience teaching band and directing student ensembles.
• Proficient in a range of band instruments.
• Strong classroom management and organizational skills.

 Accountability

• Reports directly to school administrators.
• Must maintain confidentiality and professionalism in alignment with the ILCS Employee and Faculty Handbooks.
• Will work in close partnership with faculty, families, and school leadership.

 Work Schedule

• Mondays & Thursdays (on days when school is in session)
• 12:10–12:50 PM – Advanced Band (Grades 6–8)
• 12:50–1:30 PM – Beginning Band (Grade 5)

Compensation
This is a part-time position. Compensation will be based on qualifications and experience.
