SMS/JV Robotics Advisor

JOB GOAL: To instruct students in the fundamental skills and strategy necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. At the same time, the coach must instruct and demonstrate behaviors that lead to socially acceptable character development, self-discipline, self-confidence, and pride of accomplishment in the students. To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills through mentoring, observations, consultation, etc. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Supervising the robotics team through their strategy, design, build, and competition process, providing guidance and instruction, and promoting sound engineering, safe practices, and professional behavior.
• Supporting and mentoring the student leaders in the FIRST Robotics program to become more thoughtful and effective in their work.
• Chaperoning team trips to workshops and competitions.

REQUIREMENTS:  Qualified candidates must have a strong interest in science, engineering, math, and/or technology fields.

REPORTS TO: The Activities Director, who provides overall objectives and final evaluation in conjunction with the high school principal.
