POSITION: Student Success Coach
IMMEDIATE
SUPERVISOR: Central Office Director responsible for Homeless Funding
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

SALARY: $30 per hour up to 10 hours per week
EVALUATION: Performance in this position will be evaluated by the building principal/immediate supervisor and
in accordance with WV State Code §18A-2-12, WV State Board Policy 5310, and HCBOE Evaluation Policy
JOB SUMMARY: Provide appropriate instruction to students and insure that the students meet the learning objectives and standards for the appropriate grade level/subject area
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide academic support- By offering support through any types of barriers that the student/family may be facing. They would be communicating with the student’s teachers to make sure that grades are in good standing. If the student needs after school tutoring they can assist the family with getting them signed up and any transportation needs. Helping the student navigate any challenge to stay on track academically.
· The liaison will work with the counselors and other school staff to ensure students in the secondary schools are identified and enrolled as McKinney-Vento eligible.
• The liaison would make sure that the student and family have increased access to resources. Making sure that basic needs are met such as clothing and transportation.
• The liaison would provide personalized support-One to one support would be provided to identify and address specific needs. Making sure that the student and family aware of different outside services that they may need and making helping them get in contact with these services. (Counseling, housing, medical.)
• The liaison would help these students by addressing school attendance and engagement making sure that barriers are addressed that are preventing the student from attending or being engaged academically.
• The liaison would build a positive relationship between the school and the family/student.
Documentation of all contact would be kept. Phone calls, student meetings, parent/ guardian contact, counseling/ housing/ medical referrals. Monthly meetings with the Attendance Director with an agenda and minutes will be kept.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels, pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-2; : Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited program or related field preferred. West Virginia Board of Social Work Licensure (LSW, LGSW, LCSW, or LICSW.or eligible for licensure) Meet the qualifications outlined in WV Code §18A-3-2a.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Most commonly, the educational setting is indoors with outdoor settings for recess and field trip activities. The noise level in the work environment is low to moderate (20-60dB). Exceptions include gymnasiums as well as vocational/technical laboratories where the noise levels may be moderate to loud (60-90 dB).
