Certified: Math Interventionist

Position Objective:
The goal of the Math Interventionist role is to support the implementation of the continuum of support and intervention in the area of Mathematics. The math interventionist, having both content and instructional expertise, will support student learning in the area of Mathematics by leading grade level teams through the intervention design and evaluation processes, in the planning process to support in the WIN structure, and/or by providing direct instruction to students receiving intervention. This collaborative model will use a strengths-based approach and is intended to close instructional gaps so that student needs can be adequately supported by the CORE instruction.

Qualifications:

1. Must have a valid Professional Educator License.
2. Prefer experience in elementary Math instruction with a possible endorsement in Mathematics.
3. Must demonstrate competency in the classroom beyond the minimum expectations of the district.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Advanced degree from an accredited college/university
2. Deep knowledge of content standards, effective instructional strategies, and assessment driven instruction
3. Highly effective communication, listening, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
4. Demonstrated ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team
5. Multiple certifications, endorsements, or degrees and/or experience with Second Language Learners (Bilingual/ESL certification) and/or special education populations
6. Teaching experience in multiple assignments/grade levels
7. Previous school or district leadership experience
8. Extensive involvement in reflection and professional learning 
9. Advocate for our district vision of preparing students to be successful for life 
10. Expertise in math
