Athletic Director (25% Position)

Nute Middle High School | SAU 64 | Milton, NH

Nute Middle High School is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Athletic Director to oversee all aspects of the school’s interscholastic athletic program. This part-time (25%) position is ideal for a candidate who is passionate about building a strong, student-centered athletic culture. While all applicants will be considered, the ideal candidate will not hold a coaching position, allowing for a complete focus on leadership and coordination across all teams and programs.

The Athletic Director is expected to maintain consistent visibility at practices and games, serve as a primary point of communication for families, and promote a program that reflects the values of sportsmanship, character development, and academic accountability. The successful candidate will lead with a clear vision that athletics are an extension of the educational experience, developing the whole student-athlete through teamwork, perseverance, and leadership.

Preferred Qualifications:

• NH-certified or retired educator preferred
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Prior experience in athletics or athletic coordination
• Knowledge of New Hampshire Interscholastic Athletic Association (NHIAA) policies and procedures

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage athletic schedules; coordinate with other schools and officials
• Recruit, support, and evaluate coaches in coordination with the principal
• Monitor student-athlete eligibility and physical health compliance
• Attend games and practices regularly to support our teams and foster a strong program culture
• Communicate actively with students, families, and staff regarding schedules, expectations, and opportunities
• Oversee athletic budget, fundraising coordination, uniforms, and equipment inventory
• Coordinate transportation and ensure the proper use of facilities
• Represent the school at league meetings and in correspondence with the NHIAA
• Promote a culture of sportsmanship, with a goal of earning the annual NHIAA Sportsmanship Award recognition
• Foster a positive, inclusive athletic environment that emphasizes life skills, academic focus, and personal growth
