Position Title: Plumber/Locksmith

Reports To: Director of Facilities

Primary Function:

Employee will perform all general duties associated with plumbing/locksmith within one of the following categories: unstop drainage lines, replace fixtures, repair leaks, cut keys, replace locks, open locked doors.  Must be able to perform all general repairs on all buildings within the school system associated with plumbing and locking systems.  Is under the direct supervision of Director of Facilities.

Hiring Requirements:
Educational Level: High school diploma or GED Certificate.
Certification/Licensing: Valid GA driver’s license.
Proficiency Skills: Written and oral communication skills; two (2) years experience performing general maintenance duties.  
Personal Skills: Ability to lift materials and equipment weighing a maximum of 75 pounds.  Pleasant personality, cooperative attitude, physical skills and stamina to perform essential duties.

Essential Duties: When used as an evaluation instrument the evaluator is to mark each item by circling S for tasks in which the employee meets or exceeds expectations and NI for tasks in which the employee has not met expectations.  The primary reason for this evaluation is to promote growth of the employee necessary to fulfill these expectations.   

 General
1. Maintains a pattern of prompt and regular attendance.  Work hours: 7:30 AM to 4:30PM, Monday through Friday; on call 24 hours a day, seven (7) days per week.
2. Demonstrates appropriate communication skills as applicable for the job.  Maintains accurate records of all preventative maintenance performed.
3. Acts in a professional manner and maintains a professional attitude towards the public and colleagues and exhibits the fundamentals of good public/customer service.
4. Complies with system Cultural Diversity Guidelines in dealing with students, parents, coworkers and the public.
5. Complies with school, system, state and federal regulations and policies, including the PSC Code of Ethics, as related to job requirements.
6. Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information and material; adheres to chain of command.
7. Maintains a professional appearance as appropriate for job responsibilities.
8. Participates in appropriate training, workshops and staff development activities and applies what is learned to the job; accepts new challenges in a professional manner.
9. Shows initiative and assumes responsibility for all aspects of job responsibilities; performs routine duties and tasks with little or no direct supervision.
10. Exhibits time on task, a flexible, cooperative, progressive and hard working attitude and style. Limits personal business and phone calls to a minimum during work hours.
11. Withdraws, returns and recommends items for purchase from the maintenance inventory.
12. Maintains all tools and equipment related to position in good working order.
13. Demonstrates loyalty to the school system and administration.
14. Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
