General Job Description:
Upper Valley Career Center is seeking a dedicated paraprofessional to support students in both the Digital Design and PrintTechnologies and Interactive Media programs. This role involves assisting students with learning needs, facilitating instructional activities, and promoting student engagement in a hands-on, career-focused environment.
Program Descriptions:
Digital Design and Print Technologies - This program equips students with experience and skills in the graphic communication
industry. Students learn to design images and produce the design in a variety of formats.
Interactive Media - This program prepares students for careers in the multimedia industry. Students develop skills to create digital
products in various formats to include web development, graphic images, photography, and social media marketing.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Maintain a safe learning environment for students and ensure that school policies and guidelines are being followed.
Assist the career tech instructors with student supervision and educational/operational functions.
Assist in recordkeeping, instructional preparation, lab organization, and upkeep of equipment.
Provide support to students in both programs, including assistance with activities, behavior management, and task direction.
Participate in Advisory Committee functions.
Participate in professional development activities related to the job description.
Provide sub coverage when needed for other career technical programs.
Qualifications:
Provide evidence of possessing a high school diploma OR General Equivalency Diploma (GED) and a valid Driver’s License
Meets the requirements to obtain a valid state Department of Education license appropriate for the position.
Possesses a minimum of 5 years of experience in the digital media/graphic design industry is preferred.
Experience with Adobe Software is preferred.
Displays a positive attitude and willingness to work with high school students.
Has strong communication skills and can maintain an atmosphere of trust, fairness, and respect.
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Ability to collaborate effectively with educators and support staff.
Consistently able to maintain a professional attitude, strict confidentiality, and the ability to interact with peers and supervisors in a manner conforming to the school philosophy.
Meets all mandated health screening requirements.
Maintains a record free of criminal violations that would prohibit public school employment. Able to successfully pass a BCI/FBI background check.
Maintains compliance with drug-free workplace rules, Board policies, and other applicable procedures/guidelines.
Salary:
Appropriate placement on the Paraprofessional Salary Schedule to be determined by education and experience. Salary will range from $29,489.000 ( Class I.18, Step 0) to $34,866.00 (Class I.18, Step 5). Base contract is 194 Days. Minimum workday is 7 hours per day exclusive of a lunch break . One-year contract with opportunity for renewal.

Performance Evaluation:
Job performance is evaluated according to policy provisions and contractual agreements adopted by the Upper Valley Career Center.
