Description
Essential Qualifications:

Responsibilities:
To be performed in a manner consistent with Professional Standards, the New Jersey State Nurse Practice Act, District Policies and Regulations.

- Uses the nursing process to assess the health needs of students and staff.
- Reviews immunization and physical examination records of all new/transfer students to determine eligibility for entering the Teaneck Public Schools District.
- Maintains accurate health records (A45) for all students ensuring compliance with immunizations for each grade level.
- Administers medications and treatments as ordered by the physician.
- Provides care for student and staff illness and accidents.
- Develops individual health care plans and modifications for students with special health care needs.
- Serves as liaison between the home, medical community, and the school regarding student health concerns.
- Performs NJ State mandated school screenings.
- Attend staff and professional meetings.
- Monitors the school environment and recommends changes to promote health and safety.
- Monitor attendance records to ensure students are attending school regularly.
- Serves as a member of the building Child Study Team and/or 504 committee, as needed.
- Performs, as assigned by the Superintendent or his/her designee, additional or alternate duties which are within the scope of employment and certification.
Salary: Commensurate with the TTEA Salary guide pursuant to experience and education.
