This is a blended role combining the responsibilities of Library Assistant and Behavior Assistant (25/75 but subject to change).

Position Title: Paraprofessional: Library & Behavior Assistant
Terms of Employment: 183 days per year, 6.5 hrs/day
Qualifications:
- Associates Degree or college courses,
- Valid New Hampshire Para II certification
Supervises: Students as directed by the Building Administrator
Evaluation: Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Agreement between the FMRSD and the Fall Mountain Regional Educational Support Personnel Association.
A. Position Title: Middle School Library Assistant
Job Goal: To assist in providing a positive library environment and experience for all students and staff.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Perform circulation tasks such as charging, discharging, reserving, booking, scheduling and delivery of materials.
- Shelve, file and duplicate materials.
- Prepare, process and receive materials (books, periodicals, AV, supplies, etc.).
- Prepare over-due notices.
- File catalog cards and/or help maintain online catalogue.
- Mend and maintain library materials.
- Know how to operate audio-visual equipment and perform minor repairs.
- Know how to operate library computers and related equipment.
- Respond to the needs and interests of students under the supervision of the library professional.
- Maintain an attractive center.
- Promote the love of literacy.
- Promote reading incentives.
- Perform any other related duties as assigned
B. Position Title: Behavioral Assistant
Job Goal: To provide students with social and behavioral support.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Address the behavioral concerns of identified students.
- Facilitate the daily management of identified students.
- Assist in behavioral interventions.
- Work with classroom teachers to ensure success for identified students.
- Assist students in the development and implementation of behavioral plans.
- Assist paraprofessionals assigned to students requiring social and behavioral support.
- Provide home and school communication.
- Provide social skills and positive reinforcement offerings.
- Participate in student related meetings, as appropriate.
- Maintain records.
- Work in conjunction with district behaviorist.
- Work closely with school nurse, guidance counselor, and administrator to design programs that provide for student success.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by the Building Administrator.
