Long Term Substitute - Special Education 1.0 FTE

Special Education Teacher- Long Term Substitute:  Approximate Dates - September 2, 2025 to December 1, 2025

Full time substitute position at John Hersey High School

Qualifications:

• State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a an LBS1 endorsement.
• Manage a case load of students and fulfill the students' electronic (TieNet) IEPs based on the legal compliance requirements of ISBE (accommodations, annual reviews, domain/reevaluations, progress meetings, transition goals etc...)
• Be knowledgeable about special education law and experienced with writing quality IEPs.
• Ongoing communication and collaboration with staff, students and parents. 
• Attend case manager & Early Intervention Team meetings and keep up with the special education legal requirements.
• Work closely with the building special education coordinator to stay in compliance.
