Glenbrook High School District 225's Business Services department is seeking an Accounting Assistant - Payroll (Anticipated) to start as soon as possible.

The Accounting Assistant - Payroll provides support to the Payroll Manager and the Business Services Office by executing duties pertaining to the preparation, processing, maintenance, and verification of the payroll function. The goal is to carry out all payroll procedures with speed and accuracy. Must be detail-oriented and deadline-driven with strong organizational, written, and oral communication skills. Must be able to manage multiple tasks. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Must have excellent analytical abilities to proactively work out problems and implement solutions. Must maintain a high level of confidentiality, professionalism, integrity, and trust.

Education and/or Experience and Qualifications:

  1. Associate's degree in a related field preferred.
  2. Minimum of five years of experience in a school business environment preferred.
  3. Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  4. Knowledge of state and federal payroll rules, regulations, requirements, and laws.
  5. Willingness to adjust work schedule to meet deadlines.
  6. Demonstrate the ability to develop and navigate databases using formulas and mathematical functions.
  7. Demonstrate the ability to read, understand, and develop financial budgets, and other statistical reports.
  8. Ability to multitask, prioritize daily workload, and model flexible, logical, and professional behavior.
  9. Demonstrate the ability to use discretion and exercise sound judgment.
