Must hold a license issued by Ohio Department of Education.
The license must be in one of the following types: 1 Year Substitute Multi-Age PK-12 License, 1 Year Temporary Substitute Multi-Age PK-12 License.
The license position area must be in Substitute.
The license must be in one of the following grades: Preschool/Pre-K, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th.
The license status must be active. Expired certifications will be considered.

SUBSTITUTE TEACHERS for Logan-Hocking School District

We are looking for talented professionals with a passion to work with kids, preferably with an educational background.

Being a substitute teacher gives you flexibility over your schedule and preferences of buildings or age groups. Choose your days, and contact options including regular “on-call” or opt for text message alerts through app programs.     We offer competitive pay.    We help you navigate all the requirements to become a qualified substitute teacher through the Ohio Department of Education.

Qualifications to become a substitute teacher are: Bachelor’s degree through an accredited college or university in any field of study.  (You must have transcripts showing your degree and date conferred.)    Strong interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal & written expression. Preferably one-year classroom management experience. Preferably one-year experience working with youth.

The essential duties of a substitute are: Create and maintain a respectful and fair classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. To motivate students to their highest potential, promoting good citizenship and creatively adapting methods and procedures for situations including strategies and tools to prevent problems before they arise and intervene if they continue. Being organized and prepared to respond to and report assignments in a timely manner. Conducting oneself professionally and ethically, having a strong belief that every child can cultivate a unique and powerful gift to contribute to society. Follow lesson plans and maintain order.  Leave notes for the teacher on student progress and items covered. Ability to establish a strong rapport with students, teachers, and administrators. TEACH AT LEAST ONE DAY A WEEK.
