Itinerant Elementary School PPT Facilitator (2 positions)
Each Coordinator will be responsible for two (2) elementary schools

General Statement of Responsibility:
The Itinerant Elementary School PPT Facilitator will facilitate the Special Education processes (inclusive of designated PPT meetings) at the building level for students at Hamden Elementary Schools 

 Employee Qualifications:
     1.   Valid Connecticut State Department of Education certification in Special Education, School Psychology, Social Work, or Speech and Language Pathology
     2.   Minimum of five years as a Special Education Teacher, School Psychologist, Social Worker, or Speech and Language Pathologist
     3.   Comprehensive understanding of the PPT process
     4.   Demonstrated understanding of special education law
     5.   Demonstrated effective use of CT SEDS
     6.   Demonstrated ability to analyze and write IEPs
     7.   Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with teams at the school level
     8.   Demonstrated ability to analyze assessments and other student data as a means for making instructional decisions
     9.   Demonstrated strengths in interpersonal skills, time management, organizational abilities and communication skills (both orally and written)
    10.  Demonstrated ability to use appropriate technology
    11.  Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education or the Superintendent of Schools may find appropriate and acceptable

Essential Performance Responsibilities:
      A.    Schedule and facilitate PPTs for Elementary students
      B.    Maintain accurate and up-to-date student information in CT SEDS
      C.    Provide ongoing monitoring of student records and IEPs to ensure accuracy, completeness, and confidentiality, as
             well as protection of any and all student FERPA rights
      D.    Consult, collaborate, and communicate with Special Education Administrators, school staff, parents/guardians and
             any outside agencies as necessary
      E.    Support student transitions to middle school
      F.     Serve as the administrative designee, as needed, for PPTs and in this capacity, make decisions and recommendations
              related to the provision of services as dictated by IEPs on behalf of Hamden Public Schools
      G.    Perform other related duties as directed by the Superintendent of Schools, Director of Pupil Personnel Services
             and/or their designee(s)

Terms of Employment:
Per negotiated agreement 

Bargaining Unit:
Hamden Education Association (HEA)
