DESCRIPTION

Bethel Schools is looking for great people to join our team beginning in the 2024-25 school year. We are looking for qualified candidates  who meet the above criteria. With our District’s support, candidates can apply to obtain their Emergency Substitute Teaching certificate through the State of Washington.

How is an Emergency Substitute Teacher different than a regular Substitute Teacher?

Regular Substitute Teachers are those individuals who have completed a teacher preparation program and obtained their Washington State Teaching certificate.

An Emergency Substitute Teacher is one who does not currently have a WA State Teaching certificate; these individuals are typically 'career-changers' looking to explore the teaching profession but have not completed a teaching program/received their teaching certificate.

This on-call position organizes and implements lesson plans to provide valuable learning experiences for students. Prior to your first assignment, the District will provide small group training to new guest teachers to help them be successful in the areas of classroom management, lesson plan implementation, school and district procedures, professionalism and standards of conduct, and legal issues.
